PROJECT ACTIVITIES

For more than 15 years, MERCI, s.r.o. has been designing and furnishing laboratory interiors with a full spectrum of specializations and sizes.

The following steps of cooperation are offered for successful implementation:

• Defining the basic intention
• Determining the working methods and process equipment
• Preparing documents for clearly defined project specification or lab interior technical design (book of rooms, bill of quantities, description of standards)
• Working out links of the lab interior process part with the project building part

MERCI, s.r.o. is a traditional Czech manufacturing and trading company operating in the field of laboratory and chemical plant design, implementation, furnishing and supplying.

MERCI, s.r.o. has its own project centre responsible for the complete design of laboratory equipment for the Czech and foreign markets, and a manufacturing hall on the premises.

The decision to manufacture our own series of MERCI® special laboratory furniture including fume cupboards and utility walls has been an important step forward. The MERCI® model furniture series is fully certified in accordance with the requirements of current applicable EN standards. Since 2004, MERCI has been manufacturing these components in its own manufacturing hall with an area of about 1500 m2. The modern manufacturing technology relies on new, powerful machines. The manufacture starts in the new SELCO CNC woodcutting centre, then goes to the NC drilling and milling machines, and to the edge banding centre. The last phase is the drawer press with subsequent technical quality control and packaging. Our products not only comply with strict criteria of European quality standards but also reduce our ecological footprint due to the lab furniture manufacture.

The added value of MERCI, s.r.o. consists not only in the manufacture of large series but also in the possibility to make a single atypical item.

The market demand for the manufacture of laboratory furniture for a minimum price but keeping the same quality resulted in introducing the “ECO(nomical) furniture” series. The furniture is based on the standard laboratory furniture series but the selection of modules and colours is limited and atypical items are not manufactured. The customer receives drawings without measuring up the final destination. The lower price of this furniture manufactured from quality materials of renowned brands is due to greater outputs and a faster manufacture. So this is not to the detriment of quality.

When preparing technical designs for project engineers we follow the corporate slogan “Laboratory As It Should Be”.

We deal with our customers right at their facilities. Characteristics of rooms to be furnished are specified with users. We propose an optimum technical design of the area, taking occupational safety into account. Materials to be used are selected with respect to parameters of the given workplace. The colour scheme of furniture and surfaces used at each workplace is recommended (if required, we can supply material samples to test and evaluate suitability). Drawing documents are prepared in AutoCAD (2D floor plans, 3D views) for the project.

After documenting the laboratory and instrumentation status, a book of rooms is created according to the user’s requirements for equipment. The rooms to be furnished (laboratories, classrooms, pharmacies, offices, stores, adjacent areas, changing rooms, ...) are precisely measured up. We provide building modification designs for HVAC and utility supply lines (water, gas, electricity, ...). The project also includes required furniture and instrument layout in the room and utility connection points. Compliance of the implemented result with applicable legislation is assured.

We put emphasis on safety of our designed workplaces, so the project also encompasses technical gas storage, combustible and explosive material storage, safe solutions to fire compartments and additional furnishing with safety cabinets, eye washes and showers.
The pricing includes assembly work and transport costs.

We can submit valid certificates according to EU standards (CE, environment, quality, ISO, health, safety, ...).
If the user/investor has some comments or objections, adjustments to their requirements are made.

We provide transport, authorized assembly, inspection reports and installation of other related technologies and instrumentation, if required. Warranty and post-warranty service as well as the 24-hour emergency line at +420 724 773 333 are a matter of course for us.

In extensive projects we cooperate with building companies, architects and design studios. Our project department monitors new developments on the market, legislation changes and introduces new products from Czech and foreign suppliers.

We develop laboratory furniture for specific, particular use according to customer’s requirements, among others: Sysmex CZ s.r.o. Brno; Mettler-Toledo s.r.o. Praha; Struers GmbH.
